Place everything in a greased cake tin and smooth it out slightly.
Bake in a well-preheated oven at 180°C on the bottom level for about 1 hour.
After 45 minutes, brush generously with butter and sprinkle with sugar or a mixture of sugar and cinnamon.
(If the surface browns too quickly, cover it with baking paper.)
Result:
A fantastic, very moist cake, great with whipped cream.
It may seem like there are a lot of apples compared to the dough, but don't worry - the dough will spread between the apples and mainly serves to bind them together.
